Islamic University Observed the National Mourning Day

The authorities of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia observed the National Mourning Day and 40th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with due respect and solemnity.

Marking the day, a mourning procession was brought out in the morning led by IU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Hakim Sarker on the campus. The procession paraded the entire campus area and ended in front of the administrative building.

IU Pro-VC Professor Dr. M. Shahinoor Rahman, Bangabandhu Parishad President Professor Dr. Abul Ahsan Chaudhury, Secretary Professor Dr. Ruhul KM Saleh, IUTA former Secretary Professor Dr. Harun-ur-Rashid Askari, Registrar Dr. SM Abdul Latif, Proctor Professor Dr. TM Lokman Hakim, Students' Advisor Professor Dr. M. Anowar Hossain, Shapla Forum President Dr. M. Mahbubul Arefin, Hall Provosts, chairmen of various departments, IU BCL unit president M Saiful Islam, Secretary Amit Kumar Das, Rover Scout, Journalists' Association (IUJA), among others, participated in the procession.

Earlier, commemorating the national mourning day, the national flag was kept at half-mast and black flags were hoisted atop administrative building and all residential halls of the university.
